Who Am I?

Hello there! I’m Anneka, a 41‑year‑old wife to the very patient (and incredibly supportive) Paul. Together, we’re a crazy crew of six: my daughter Aniyah (20), sons Ethan (13) and Charlie (8), and my cheeky stepson Max (4). We’re also proudly outnumbered in the pet department by our two madcap dogs, Mabel and Marley, who keep life entertaining—and muddy!

The accidental photographer

Photography wasn’t my first love. I actually came from a healthcare background, where I never even considered picking up a camera professionally. But, as life often does, it had other plans.

What started as curiosity turned into passion after I took an evening course just to learn how to use my camera properly. That’s when the spark lit. From there, I dived headfirst into newborn photography—because babies are amazing (and also, let’s be honest, terrifyingly tiny!). I knew it was crucial to get the safety side right, so I trained specifically in newborn photography safety—because your baby’s comfort and wellbeing are absolutely everything to me.

Fast forward a decade, and what started as a fluke has become my passion and purpose. My camera feels like a fifth child, and I love it fiercely!

Awards and Accolades

I’m proud (and slightly flabbergasted!) to say the recognition has followed. On my home page, you’ll see a collection of awards I’ve been honoured with over the years—celebrating everything from newborn and family portraiture to creative fine-art imagery. Each one is a testament to the trust my clients place in me and the heartfelt connections we make. I still pinch myself sometimes that this is my job—it’s been one of the best surprises life has given me.

A bit more about me

When I’m not behind the camera or wrangling children/dogs/frogs, you’ll find me:

• Building epic Lego creations (usually while stepping on a few bricks, ouch)

• Gardening… somewhat accidentally. We moved house last year and inherited a giant garden and a pond, which has made me the unofficial mother to hundreds of frogs!

• Chatting! I’m naturally friendly, talkative, and love getting to know people—which is probably why I’ve built such lovely, lasting relationships with so many clients over the years.

• clients return year after year—babies become toddlers, toddlers become teens—and through it all, I’m not just the photographer; I’m a friend who shares in their milestones, their laughs, and their journey.

Why I Love What I Do

Photography is more than a business—it’s truly my passion and my fifth baby. I’m endlessly inspired by the families I meet, the milestones I get to capture, and the memories I help preserve. It’s not just about photos—it’s about the stories behind them.

So whether it’s your baby’s first days, a family portrait full of personality, or a yearly tradition you’ve trusted me with—I’m honoured every time.
